Invisible Fence Installation

Pet safety has become a priority these days as more people become pet owners. The best way to keep your pets safely in the yard is invisible fencing. Once it is installed, an invisible fence will do more than just keep your dog in the yard. It will keep your dog out of the garden, the flowerbed, the pool, and many other places. Installation is easy; however, to be sure your pet will be safe the invisible fence must be installed correctly.

The tools you will need

You will need, a rake, spade shovel, wire cutters, wire strippers, drill, weed wacker, circular saw with Masonry blade, (if you need to cut into the driveway) Friendly tip, before going out to buy these tools check your garage to see if you have them lying around.

Make a plan

Before you start the installation process, decide exactly where you want your parameter. Lay the wire out along the desired perimeter. Do not dig a trench or buried the wire until it is completely in place. So that you can make sure, you have enough wire to complete the project.

Dig a trench

Use your spade shovel to dig trench six-inches into the ground around the perimeter. Use your foot to push down the point of the shovel into the ground. Push back and forth on the shovel creating a space.

Install the wire along the perimeter

Place the wire into the trench using your foot push the dirt over the top of the wire and pack the dirt down into place. Make sure the wire is completely covered.

Install the twisted wire

There are some areas in the yard that need to be dormant. Such as, the area the transmitter connects to the boundary wire. In this area, twist the wires so that they will cancel one another out. Place flags to Mark the designated areas in the yard in order to assist in training your dog to know and understand the boundaries. After a few weeks, you can remove the flags because the dog will be trained. Good luck.
